2006 Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade: Nemo, Pirates, Hannah Montana & Year of a Million Dreams

Dreaming Big on Christmas Morning

It’s the Year of a Million Dreams at Walt Disney World, and the 2006 Disney Christmas Parade embraces that spirit with unforgettable performances, exciting park previews, and beloved characters from across the Disney universe. To begin, returning hosts Regis Philbin and Kelly Ripa welcome viewers from the Magic Kingdom. At the same time, Ryan Seacrest checks in from Disneyland.

The broadcast opens with a high-energy performance from American Idol stars Ace Young, Kevin Covais, Paris Bennett, and Mandisa. As a result, it’s the perfect kickoff to a celebration all about making dreams come true.

New Attractions and Magical Moments

This year’s broadcast highlights Disney’s evolution and innovation. The Pirates of the Caribbean float makes its Christmas Day debut. Additionally, we get our first look at the revamped ride, now featuring characters and scenes inspired by the popular film series.

Meanwhile, it’s all about the sea at Epcot and Animal Kingdom. Finding Nemo: The Musical recently opened at Animal Kingdom, transforming the beloved film into a live stage spectacle. Over at Epcot, The Seas with Nemo & Friends and Turtle Talk with Crush are newly opened, bringing guests into Nemo’s undersea world in engaging, interactive ways.

In addition, at Disneyland, anticipation builds for the return of the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, set to open in summer 2007.

Musical Guests Bring the Magic

The 2006 parade features a star-studded musical lineup. Beyoncé headlines the show with a powerhouse performance. Bianca Ryan showcases her winning voice from America’s Got Talent. Next, the Doodlebops add fun and energy for Playhouse Disney fans.

Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus, appearing as Hannah Montana, gives one of her first major Disney performances. Afterward, RBD brings global pop flair to the festivities. Daniel Powter follows with a heartfelt hit, while Brenda Song delivers Disney Channel cheer.

Furthermore, stars from High School Musical—Ashley Tisdale, Corbin Bleu, Monique Coleman, and Lucas Grabeel—perform fan-favorite numbers. Andrea Bocelli adds elegance with a classical holiday ballad. Soon after, Aly & AJ return with upbeat Disney Channel fun.

In addition, Michael Bolton performs a Christmas classic. Even Emmitt Smith, fresh off his Dancing with the Stars victory, joins the celebration. Moreover, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition stars Ty Pennington, Eduardo Xol, Paige Hemmis, and Johnny Depp all make special appearances.
