1995 Walt Disney World Happy Easter Parade

The 1995 Walt Disney World Easter Day Parade was broadcast by ABC on Easter Sunday, April 16, 1995.  The parade is hosted by Regis Philbin and Joan Lunden with Dave Chappelle, yes that Dave Chappelle, and Jim Breuer serving as reporters.  The show opens with Mickey and Minnie finding a large Easter egg in front of Cinderella Castle, which turns out to be Roger Rabbit.  We get our first look at the new Mickey Mania Parade at Magic Kingdom, a behind the scenes look at Disney’s latest animated feature Pocahontas, Goofy and Max battle it out at the new Disney water park Blizzard Beach and all the color, fun and fantasy of the happiest Easter parade ever!

Disney Fairy Tale Weddings gets the spotlight for a special promotion before a quick look at the Lion King on Stage at Magic Kingdom.  Remember the Lion King has just become the biggest selling video of all time with over 25 million copies sold and “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” had won the Oscar for the best song of 1994; a perfect segue to Disney MGM Studios where a stageshow version of the newest blockbuster coming in the summer of 1995.  Pocahontas is already in the works.  Meanwhile over at Epcot, crews are preparing for the International Flower and Garden Festival, the 3rd festival running from April 28 – June 4th.  That’s 37 days compared to 90 days in 2019.  Then we get a very quick look at the new Tomorrowland at Magic Kingdom….  Interesting.
