A New Holiday Tradition Begins
In 2016, Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World debuted a brand-new holiday nighttime show: Jingle Bell Jingle BAM! Featuring state-of-the-art projections, fireworks, lasers, and even snow, this spectacular took over Center Stage in front of the Chinese Theater, blending beloved Disney animation with holiday cheer.

The story follows Wayne and Lanny from Prep & Landing as they search for Santa Claus, leading them through classic Disney holiday scenes and even a visit to The Nightmare Before Christmas. It’s a whirlwind of fun and festive visuals, all set to a powerful medley of seasonal songs.
Projections, Fireworks, and Festive Fun
Jingle Bell Jingle BAM! was more than just a show—it was a demonstration of Disney’s evolving use of projection mapping and special effects. Building off the tech infrastructure created for the Star Wars: Galactic Spectacular, this show was the first major holiday use of those elements. Lasers, snow effects, synchronized pyrotechnics, and a custom score brought the holidays to life in a brand-new way.

Endless Possibilities for the Future
With the removal of the Sorcerer’s Hat and the creation of Sunset Showcase, Disney positioned Hollywood Studios for projection-based entertainment with modular flexibility. Jingle Bell Jingle BAM! proved the format could adapt. Could we see themed versions for Toy Story, Pixar, or The Muppets? Only time will tell, but one thing is certain—this holiday spectacle was just the beginning.
