A Holiday First for Disney and the U.S.

In 2016, Disney Springs introduced a dazzling new holiday experience unlike anything seen before in Disney Parks. Or for that anywhere in the United States. The Starbright Holidays – An Intel Collaboration was a first-of-its-kind drone show featuring 300 synchronized drones illuminating the night sky over Lake Buena Vista.
Where to Watch Starbright Holidays
The best place to experience the show was from the Disney Springs West Side, anywhere between the boat dock near House of Blues and the lakefront near Starbucks. I recorded my video from the exit area of Characters in Flight, which was temporarily closed during the performance and reopened immediately after.

I chose that spot after recording Jingle Bell Jingle BAM at Hollywood Studios. You can see both shows in one night!
Flying Pixels and the Future of Disney Nighttime Shows
The drones, or “flixels,” created dazzling, synchronized patterns set to music, perfectly capturing the holiday spirit. Though short, the show made a huge impact and hinted at future drone use in other Disney nighttime spectaculars.
