A Hidden Holiday Gem at Epcot
The Fountain of Nations once stood proudly behind Spaceship Earth, greeting guests with choreographed streams of water soaring up to 150 feet. It was one of Epcot’s opening day originals—a beautifully engineered, 180 x 120-foot oval fountain that danced every 15 minutes to music from around the world.
Even more incredible? It included waters collected from 22 nations, poured into the basin during the park’s opening dedication. Yet despite its beauty and legacy, the fountain was often overlooked by guests rushing toward World Showcase or the newest attraction.
A Holiday Transformation You Won’t Find on the Map
During the holiday season, this dancing fountain transformed into an unofficial seasonal show, enhanced with festive music and lights. While it never appeared in the official Times Guide or park maps, it became an Epcot holiday tradition for fans who knew to pause and enjoy.
In this blog, we’re honoring the Fountain of Nations Holiday Edition with a special 30-minute continuous video. Captured from behind the fountain looking toward Spaceship Earth, it’s a peaceful tribute to a long-gone Walt Disney World treasure.
Why This Tribute Matters
The Fountain of Nations was removed in 2019, making way for Epcot’s transformation. But its spirit remains a cherished part of park history. With musical water choreography, it set the tone for shows like World of Color and inspired future Disney tech-driven spectacles.
If you miss the original Epcot, this video tribute is for you. Watch, relax, and enjoy the holiday magic one more time.
