Disney KiteTails Jungle Book Soars at Animal Kingdom
Disney KiteTails is a daytime show created for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. It takes flight at Animal Kingdom’s Discovery River Theater. This colorful entertainment experience brings beloved Disney characters to life through massive, wind-powered kites and choreographed sky performances.
Jungle Book-Themed Performances Take Flight
This version of KiteTails celebrates The Jungle Book. It features larger-than-life kites of Baloo and King Louie gliding over the water, backed by an upbeat medley of classic songs like The Bare Necessities and I Wanna Be Like You.
Performers on land twirl windcatchers and smaller kites, while jet skis tow massive 3D kite characters on the water, some reaching up to 30 feet in length. Their synchronized flight is timed to music, creating a joyful, immersive experience filled with vibrant color and motion.
Two Shows, Two Stories
Disney KiteTails features two unique shows, each themed to a different Disney film—The Lion King and The Jungle Book. While both offer 10-minute performances, each has its soundtrack, choreography, and character lineup. This blog and video highlight the Jungle Book version.
