Surf’s up! Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon Water Park reopened on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2022, on a beautiful and sunny Florida morning at Walt Disney World Resort. Guests traveled from all over to return to the storm-strewn paradise to once again experience their favorite thrilling water attractions and the tropical family fun during Walt Disney World Resort’s 50th anniversary celebration.
To celebrate the reopening, guests got to build their own tropical flavor DOLE Whip combinations at Snack Shack, which are just one of several new delicious menu offerings that debuted during the reopening of Typhoon Lagoon. They were the perfect frozen treats to cool down with on a warm Florida day in the tropical-themed water park. Disney Water Park fans also celebrated by returning to their favorite water attractions, like body surfing in America’s largest outdoor wave pool, plunging down Humunga Kowabunga, and taking a journey with friends and family down Miss Adventure Falls.
From relaxing in Castaway Creek to the thrill of Crush N’ Gusher, Typhoon Lagoon’s reopening brought families back to the tucked away, a nautical oasis at Walt Disney World Resort. Whether it’s the topsy-turvy architecture, storm-strewn treasures scattered around the park, or the stranded ship, Missy Tilly’s, perched upon the summit of Mount Mayday, each detail immerses guests into the magical legend of Typhoon Lagoon every time they visit the park.
