Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a ghoulish time to visit Walt Disney Worlds Magic Kingdom. An evening filled with special events and Halloween thrills, not to mention trick or treating – A “Boo to You Parade”, a special Celebrate the Magic castle projection show, HalloWishes fireworks, and special Disney character appearances.

There’s one constant at Walt Disney World, it is changing. Last year saw the premiere of the “Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular”, replacing the Villains Mix and Mingle – you can catch the Mix and Mingle
Hocus Pocus is a 1993 American Halloween Fantasy-Comedy movie starring Bette Midler, Kathy Najimy, and Sarah Jessica Parker. The movie follows the villainous trio of witches who are inadvertently resurrected by a male teenager in Salem, Massachusetts on Halloween night. The film has established a cult-like following, largely due to its annual airings on The Disney Channel.
According to the Walt Disney World Website:
The mischievous Sanderson Sisters from Disney’s Hocus Pocus return to the mortal world to throw a Halloween party. With only a few hours to run amuck, Winifred, Mary, and Sarah decide to use their magic to host a decidedly wicked fun fest. Enlisting the help of the Disney villains, the 3 sisters mix sinister shadows, terrifying nightmares and use the nefarious powers of their frightening colleagues to conjure the ultimate Hocus Pocus Party Potion—and cast a spell on everyone in the Magic Kingdom! Look for appearances from Dr. Facilier, Oogie Boogie, and Maleficent. Combine them and other great Disney villains with amazing dancers, wild visual projections, and otherworldly special effects to make Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular a not-to-be-missed Halloween treat!
While the storyline is entertainment, and Disney has done a wonderful job incorporating the rest of the
Disney villains into the story, I’m most impressed with the technology in use. Disney has taken the capabilities of the Cinderella castle projection lighting along with the new stage, new sound system, and fireworks to create a masterpiece. At times, the castle appears to be dancing with the performances. In addition to the highly talented dancers, the character performers have done a wonderful job capturing the spirit of all of the characters.
I hope you enjoy my quick look at Mickey’s No-So-Scary Halloween Party 2016 along with the new Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular.
