Evolution of Hollywood Studios
The transformation began in 2015 with the removal of the Sorcerer’s Hat and the closure of attractions like The Backlot Tour, The Streets of America, and The Great Movie Ride. These changes shifted the park’s focus from showcasing the behind-the-scenes aspects of movie-making to immersing guests directly into the worlds of their favorite films.
The introduction of Toy Story Land in 2018 and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in 2019, featuring attractions like Rise of the Resistance, exemplifies this new direction.Hollywood Studios now offers experiences where guests are part of the action, fully enveloped in the storytelling.
