Food is Art — and a Force for Storytelling in the Star Wars Universe
Food isn’t just nourishment—it’s part of the story. And in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, everything, including the menu, contributes to the immersive storytelling. That’s where the Galaxy’s Edge: Black Spire Outpost Cookbook comes in.
At the Rise of the Resistance opening event, we had the opportunity to chat with Chelsea Monroe-Cassel, the creative force behind the cookbook. Known for bringing fictional worlds to life through cuisine (with previous books for Game of Thrones, World of Warcraft, and more), Chelsea shared how she approached creating recipes for a galaxy far, far away.
The cookbook goes beyond theme park food—it imagines what citizens of Batuu might actually cook in their homes or street markets. From Tip-Yip to Mustafarian Lava Buns, the recipes blend real-world ingredients with galactic inspiration, all in-universe and totally immersive.
