Festival Within a Festival: Walt Disney World’s 50th and The Epcot Food and Wine 2021

The Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary may be the headline event of the year, but it’s not the only celebration happening across the parks. Over at Epcot, the 2021 International Food and Wine Festival continues in full swing, delivering global flavors, festive beverages, and exclusive events to guests hungry for more.

This year’s festival is even more special—it’s within a festival, overlapping with the opening month of the 50th Anniversary. That makes it a perfect time to explore classic and newly reimagined areas of EPCOT, especially the World Showcase.

Chef Courtney Jackson Breaks Down Festival Favorites

During my visit, I talked with Festival Chef Courtney Jackson, who shared insights into some of this year’s most exciting dishes and returning favorites. From Hawai’i to Germany, the global marketplaces offer something for every palate, whether you crave heat, sweetness, or a little bit of both.

Chef Courtney walked me through some fan-favorite dishes—like the Canadian Cheddar Cheese Soup, Greek Spanakopita, and Australian Lamb Chop—but also introduced a few bold newcomers. This year’s lineup includes spicy corn ribs, new vegan options, and a variety of food and drink pairings that highlight seasonal and cultural specialties.

Global Marketplaces and a World of Flavor

The EPCOT Food and Wine 2021 festival spans more than 20 global marketplaces, each offering a curated taste of international cuisine. While many favorites have returned, several brand-new booths debut this year, bringing fresh energy and unexpected flavors to the festival.

You’ll find dishes inspired by Africa, Brazil, India, and the Alps, along with new offerings at The Donut Box, Mac & Eats, and Lobster Landing. Don’t forget about the beverages—craft beers, signature cocktails, and regional wines are carefully selected to match each menu.
