As part of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary celebration, Disney’s Contemporary Resort—one of the resort’s two original hotels—is receiving a super-powered makeover. With a fresh refurbishment led by Walt Disney Imagineering, the iconic A-frame tower is now home to Incredibles-themed guest rooms that blend sleek modern design with Tomorrowland flair and Pixar storytelling.
Classic Design Meets Pixar Style
The resort’s new look keeps the classic mid-century modern aesthetic of the 1971 original while adding bold pops of color, streamlined furnishings, and subtle nods to The Incredibles.
From the moment you step inside, you’ll notice custom artwork, retro-futuristic light fixtures, and room decor that feels straight out of Edna Mode’s design studio. Each room includes:
- Incredibles-themed textiles and posters
- A Monorail-inspired color palette
- Pull-down beds for additional sleeping space
- High-tech touches like USB charging stations and touch lighting
Disney has described the new rooms as a “sleek Monorail motif evoking Tomorrowland”, but make no mistake—this is a Pixar-powered room through and through.
Super Details Throughout
Our video tour captures the experience, including close-ups of custom throw pillows with Mr. Incredible’s suit design, themed closet interiors with Jack-Jack and his cookies, and even bathroom tiles that reflect superhero motifs.
One standout feature is the monorail blue headboard art, which places the iconic transportation system front and center. There’s even an Incredibles-style mask pattern on the bed runners—subtle, stylish, and unmistakably Disney.
Part of the Disney Resorts Collection
These updated rooms are part of the Disney Resorts Collection, offering guests a new way to stay immersed in the magic throughout their vacation. As one of the original 1971 opening-day hotels, the Contemporary has always symbolized Walt Disney World’s optimistic vision of the future—and these rooms continue that legacy with a family-friendly, forward-looking flair.
Whether you’re a fan of Pixar’s superhero family, a returning guest to the Contemporary, or experiencing Walt Disney World for the first time during the 50th, this new room design perfectly combines nostalgia and new magic.
