A Snapshot of Main Street Disneyland in 2012
The left side of Main Street was scheduled for refurbishment in 2012. So I set out to document the details before anything changed. Among the highlights? A surprise performance by the Firehouse Five Plus Two.

Main Street at Disneyland is similar to Magic Kingdom’s, but with its own unique personality. The scale is smaller, yet the charm is just as big—packed with historic character and entertainment.
Penny Arcade and Carnation Cafe
The Penny Arcade and Carnation Café were also key stops on this visit. Both were temporarily closed for updates. Still, I took time to appreciate their design and role in creating the classic Main Street experience. The Penny Arcade is filled with vintage machines, and the Carnation Café remains a fan favorite for a quick, relaxing bite.
Firehouse Five Plus Two and a Goofy Guest Star
The heart of this video is the Firehouse Five Plus Two performing right in front of the Disneyland Fire Station. Their jazz-filled performance brought energy and nostalgia—and as a bonus, Goofy joined in the fun! It was a magical, musical moment that paid tribute to Disneyland’s live entertainment legacy.
You never know who will show up when the Firehouse Five Plus Two takes the stage. Watch the video and enjoy a piece of authentic Disney history, just before Main Street began a new chapter.
