Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a hard ticketed event held annually at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Since we covered the party in full last year—including the unforgettable Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade—this episode focuses on the new entertainment and experiences that debuted in 2013.

New for 2013: Celebrate the Magic and More
One of the biggest updates is the debut of Celebrate the Magic – Holiday Edition, which replaced The Magic, The Memories & You as the nightly projection show on Cinderella Castle. Shown at 9:15 p.m., just before Holiday Wishes, this new version uses the castle as a canvas to create dazzling holiday scenes with stunning effects.
The Jingle Cruise Sets Sail
Also new in 2013, the iconic Jungle Cruise transforms into the Jingle Cruise for the first time. This overlay brings holiday cheer to the classic adventure, with festive decorations, themed jokes, and a storyline about homesick skippers trying to bring Christmas to the jungle.

A Glowing Bonus at Hollywood Studios
While not part of the Christmas Party itself, 2013 also featured the arrival of Glow with the Show Mickey Ears at the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Guests wearing the special ears could enjoy synchronized lighting effects as part of the dazzling display.
Wrapping It All Up
From castle projections to boat tours and glowing ears, 2013 brought plenty of new magic to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Stay tuned for the full video recap and coverage of each experience as we unwrap the season, one feature at a time!
