I’ve said it many times—EPCOT is my favorite Walt Disney World park. Future World and World Showcase offer a perfect blend of edutainment, culture, and family fun. While I may not have realized it on my first visit as a teenager, EPCOT has become my go-to destination. The Epcot Food & Wine Festival 2013 is no exception.

Special events like the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival and EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival add even more magic. These festivals provide another reason to visit Walt Disney World, and when you include the emerging Holidays Around the World, that’s three new reasons to plan your trip!

A Culinary Celebration

Since 1995, the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival has transformed the park into a foodie paradise, with everything from tasting kiosks to celebrity chef demonstrations and festival-themed merchandise. While I could spend all day in the Festival Center, the real highlight is the 30 global kiosks surrounding World Showcase Lagoon.

Each kiosk showcases cuisine from countries like The Caribbean, New Zealand, Belgium, Ireland, and Greece, to name a few. These small plates are perfect for sampling unique flavors as you stroll around the lagoon. But the biggest question is—where do you start?

Discovery Passport: Your Must-Have Guide

Epcot International Food and Wine Festival 2013 – Week 7 Map

The Discovery Passport is a pocket guide that lists all the kiosks and menus, helping you plan your must-try dishes. Each kiosk has a unique stamp—collect them all to earn a Completer Stamp at the Festival Center! You don’t have to purchase anything to collect the stamps; just ask a cast member to stamp your passport.

The Discovery Passport also includes the Eat to the Beat concert lineup and highlights of key events at the Festival Center. If you’re visiting with kids, look for the “Try It” logo, which marks kid-friendly options.

Don’t Miss the Festival Center

In addition to the kiosks, the Festival Center is a must-visit spot. It’s home to:

  • Wine & Beverage Seminars
  • Culinary Demonstrations
  • Mixology Seminars
  • Book Signings
  • The Chocolate Experience

Make sure to grab the Event Guide, updated weekly with a map of all events. It’s the best way to keep track of everything happening at the festival!

Relax in the Chase Lounge

For 2013, the Chase Lounge was located in the VIP section of the American Adventure Pavilion. It offered a place to relax and recharge, complete with great views of World Showcase, free snacks, and a Coke Freestyle machine.

Find Your Favorite Kiosk

Everyone has their favorite kiosk at the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival—I have mine, and you’ll no doubt find yours, too!
