Disney Villains Take Center Stage
The Disney Villains finally had their moment to shine—and they didn’t disappoint. Villains Unite the Night was the headline entertainment during Disney Villains After Hours at Magic Kingdom in Summer 2019, and it brought the castle stage to life with a fiery, fast-paced show full of mischief, mayhem, and some seriously powerful dark magic. The event was part of the broader #NowMoreThanEver campaign that brought new entertainment, treats, and surprises to all four Walt Disney World theme parks. But nothing quite captured the spirit of the season like the villains taking over Cinderella Castle.

A Wickedly Fun Stage Spectacle
Hosted by Hades, Lord of the Underworld himself, the show featured a who’s-who of Disney’s most devious icons. With the help of Meg, Hades summoned a lineup of villainous talent to prove he had what it took to rule the darkness. Appearances from Dr. Facilier, The Evil Queen, Jafar, and even Maleficent (in dragon form!) had the crowd cheering for the bad guys all night long. The show packed in stunning projection effects, lasers, fireworks, and pyrotechnics that lit up the castle in ways we’ve never seen before. The combination of live actors and special effects gave the show the energy of a nighttime spectacular with the intimacy of a stage production.

The Night Belonged to the Villains
Beyond the castle show, Villains After Hours delivered an unforgettable evening. With more than 20 attractions open and minimal wait times, guests could hop on Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train with barely a line. Both Space and Pirates featured villain-themed overlays exclusive to the event. Free snacks like ice cream bars, popcorn, and bottled beverages were available throughout the park, and specialty villain-themed treats added even more flavor to the night. Guests also enjoyed exclusive merchandise, face painting, and character moments with roaming villains.

Maleficent Roamed the Night
For an extra dose of drama, Maleficent the Dragon made a rare nighttime appearance, breathing fire along the parade route. It was a thrilling moment that capped off the energy of the night—and gave fans a chance to see a Festival of Fantasy favorite in a whole new light.
