When it originally opened on August 1, 1997, Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort became the largest Disney convention resort, complete with one of the largest single-level convention centers on the East Coast. Now, with the grand opening of the new Gran Destino Tower on July 9, 2019, the resort has been reimagined in a bold and beautiful way.

Welcome to Gran Destino Tower
Gran Destino Tower now serves as the central arrival hub for the entire resort, with a two-story lobby that blends contemporary style and rich storytelling. Guests entering the lobby can relax in the Barcelona Lounge, which serves coffee and pastries in the morning and becomes a lively full-service bar by evening.

On the 16th floor, guests can enjoy Toledo – Tapas, Steaks, and Seafood. A locaiton inspired by the avant-garde artists and writers of early 20th-century Spain. Next door, the Dahlia Lounge celebrates the surreal artistry of Destino, the legendary Walt Disney and Salvador Dalí collaboration. Even the 15th-floor concierge lounge is aptly named Chronos Club, referencing the Greek god of time and a key figure in the Destino story.
Reimagined Lodging Areas
Gran Destino Tower also connects guests to the resort’s three themed lodging areas:
The Casitas, reflecting the residential charm of Mexican colonial cities
The Ranchos, inspired by the dry, rugged landscapes of northern Mexico and the American Southwest
The Cabanas, designed to evoke a quiet, coastal fishing village in Mexico
These districts offer a diverse range of accommodations with unique design elements reflecting the cultural influences of their namesakes.
