1995 Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade: Toy Story, Blizzard Beach, Disney Institute & More

Hosts and Opening Highlights

Woody and Buzz Lightyear try to kick off the celebration until Regis Philbin steps in to let Joan Lunden and Mickey Mouse properly open the 1995 Walt Disney World Very Merry Christmas Parade. This year’s parade features a major first—the television debut of the Toy Story Parade at Disney MGM Studios.

Joan and Regis host from the Magic Kingdom and MGM Studios, joined by special guests including Boy Meets World stars Ben Savage and Ryder Strong, Walt Disney World Inside-Out hosts JD Roth and Brianne Leary, and the singing voices: Jodi Benson (The Little Mermaid), Richard White (Beauty and the Beast’s Gaston), and Brad Kane (Aladdin).

Toy Story Parade & MGM Studios

The Toy Story Parade showcases all the characters from Pixar’s groundbreaking feature film. Ben Savage and Ryder Strong give viewers a tour of the new parade and behind-the-scenes stories from Disney MGM Studios.

Regis shares details of his special course at the Disney Institute, Disney’s unique educational and entertainment retreat. Joan also shares her Disney Institute experience, including animation classes, an up-close look at an alligator, and even rock climbing.

Over at Disney MGM Studios, we get our first look at the Osborne Lights in their original location on Residential Street.

Blizzard Beach, Elves & Santa

Santa’s Elves are back—and this year, they’ve chosen Blizzard Beach for their annual holiday vacation. Expect snowy antics, music videos, and plenty of waterpark mischief.

The Magic Kingdom hosts the traditional parade route with floats, character appearances, and marching bands, anchored by Mickey and Minnie Mouse leading the festivities.

Animation Spotlight & Behind the Scenes

We also get an exclusive look at the making of Toy Story, Disney and Pixar’s first computer-animated feature. Animators and creators share how groundbreaking technology brought Woody, Buzz, and the gang to life.

Grand Finale

The program wraps with holiday cheer, musical performances, and Santa Claus’s arrival, grandly closing out Disney’s televised Christmas Day Parade.
