Our Early Look at the 2020 Star Wars Rival Run Medals

We got an early look at the 2020 Star Wars Rival Run Medals, and trust me—these are a must-have for any runner or Star Wars fan gearing up for race weekend at Walt Disney World. The Rival Run Weekend was originally scheduled for April 16–19, 2020, and with it came one of the most collectible sets of runDisney medals we’ve seen yet.

This year’s designs blend galactic style with Disney craftsmanship, delivering stunning tributes to fan-favorite characters and epic Star Wars moments. Here’s what to expect:

Medal Lineup

  • 5K Medal – Ahsoka Tano:
Featuring the iconic Clone Wars Jedi Padawan, this medal highlights Ahsoka’s strength, legacy, and fan-favorite status. A sleek blue tone matches her lightsabers.
  • 10K Medal – Princess Leia & Stormtrooper:
A perfect reflection of the original trilogy’s tension, this medal captures Leia’s leadership and the ever-present threat of the Empire.
  • Half Marathon Medal – Yoda:
Runners tackling 13.1 miles were rewarded with a medal featuring Jedi Master Yoda—small in size, but wise and mighty in spirit.
  • Rival Run Challenge Medal – TIE Fighter:
Finish both the 10K and Half and earn this imposing Imperial TIE Fighter medal. It’s a sleek nod to the galactic war above and below.
  • Kessel Run Challenge Medal – Millennium Falcon:
For those combining the Virtual Half Marathon with the Rival Run Half, the Falcon was the prize. The medal design brings hyperspace into focus with a spin element.
  • runDisney Kids Races – BB-8 & Stormtrooper Medals:
Even the littlest runners had a chance to earn themed finisher medals. The BB-8 and Stormtrooper designs made for great race-day souvenirs.
