Journey into Magic: Walt Disney World in 1993

The spirit of Walt Disney World touches each of us in different ways, and for many, that journey begins with meeting Mickey Mouse himself. In 1993, Disney fans across the country were treated to a magical behind-the-scenes look at the Vacation Kingdom of the World with the television special Journey into Magic at Walt Disney World, hosted by Tim Klein.

A 1993 Time Capsule of Disney Magic

Premiering in 1993, Journey into Magic transported viewers on a captivating tour across Walt Disney World Resort. The special offered an insiderโ€™s view into the sights, sounds, and experiences that made the resort a dream destination. Viewers explored Disney-MGM Studios (now Hollywood Studios), EPCOT, the Magic Kingdom, and beyond through cinematic storytelling and a healthy dose of 90s charm.

From Disney-MGM Studios, where guests could โ€œstarโ€ in their favorite films. Then the wonders of EPCOT Centerโ€™s Future World and World Showcase.  The special perfectly captured the spirit of the resort at that time. The Magic Kingdomโ€™s most iconic attractions were on full display, including a look at classics like Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean, while families enjoyed the parades and shows that brought the parks to life.

Celebrity Appearances and Nostalgia

Hosted by Tim Klein, the show also featured appearances by Scott Cassidy, Ed McMahon, and Chris Hunt.  Adding extra excitement and star power. Their charm and enthusiasm helped convey the wonder of Disney to viewers at home.  Many of whom were seeing these behind-the-scenes moments for the first time.

One especially memorable moment featured Michael Eisner, then CEO of The Walt Disney Company, who helped introduce segments of the show and reminded audiences just how magical Walt Disney World could be.
