Michael Eisner kicks off this Totally Minnie special from the brand-new Disney-MGM Studios Theme Park in Orlando, Florida. Michael and the gang are looking for a spot to watch the show and grab a bite to eat—how about the 50’s Prime Time Café? The gang settles in to watch Minnie’s first unique solo special, Totally Minnie 1988!

Originally airing on February 25, 1988, the special was hosted by Suzanne Somers and, of course, Minnie Mouse. A total “nerd” named Maxwell Dweeb heads to the “Minnie Mouse Center for the Totally Un-Hip,” where Minnie teaches him how to be “hip.” Watch for Minnie’s debut with Elton John and fun cameos by Vanna White and Philip Michael Thomas.

This special also marked an important moment for Russi Taylor, who had recently taken over the role of Minnie Mouse in 1986. Totally Minnie was one of her first major appearances as Minnie, helping to define the character’s voice for an entire generation. Taylor continued voicing Minnie for over 30 years, becoming a Disney Legend for her contributions.
