This one-hour television special aired on November 21m 1990. A tribute to the creator of the Muppets, Jim Henson. The special featured Jim’s creations from The Muppet Show, Fraggle Rock, and Sesame Street, it also marked the first performance of Kermit The Frog by Steve Whitmire.
As the story goes, Kermit is traveling with Fozzie in charge of this week’s show. The Muppets receive a not from Kermit that the production number needs to pay tribute to Jim Henson. The Group doesn’t exactly know who Jim is, and the rest of the special follows the Muppets figuring out who Jim Henson is, and what his relationship to them is. Special Guests Include Carol Burnett, Ray Charles, John Denver, Steven Spielberg, Harry Belafonte, and Frank Oz.
