In 2012, HGTV delivered Disney magic directly into fans’ homes with the special episode “HGTV My House Goes Disney.” This unique home makeover show transformed a family’s house into a Disney dream home. A home filled with themed designs inspired by some of Disney’s most characters and movies.

Disney-Inspired Home Transformations
The featured family deeply loves Disney, from fairies to fish. The HGTV team rose to the challenge, designing stunning rooms inspired by Disney magic. The makeover included a Finding Nemo-themed bedroom with a full-size Crush bed. Additionally, a Cinderella fairy-themed bedroom brought royal dreams to life. In contrast, a Cars-themed bedroom featured a Lightning McQueen bed and a hidden race track, perfect for young racing fans.

Bringing Disney Magic Outdoors
The transformation extended beyond the interiors. The family’s new swimming pool drew inspiration from the Walt Disney World Yacht and Beach Club Resort, offering a relaxing, Disney-themed retreat in their backyard. This pool design added a touch of resort luxury, perfectly capturing Disney’s attention to detail.

Inspired by Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
The home makeover drew significant inspiration from the then-soon-to-open Disney Art of Animation Resort. The designs showcased elements from Disney classics such as Finding Nemo, Cars, and Cinderella, seamlessly blending them into a functional home environment. The result was a living space with Disney magic in every corner.
