Disney’s Holiday Tradition Returns to the Castle Stage

The 2017 Disney Holiday Special, titled Wonderful World of Disney: Magical Holiday Celebration, aired with dazzling performances and exciting surprises from Walt Disney World Resort and Disneyland Resort. The celebration kicked off with an electric opening number by Julianne Hough and Nick Lachey live on the Cinderella Castle stage, setting the tone for an unforgettable evening.

This year’s musical celebration continued the tradition of merging beloved holiday songs with Disney’s most iconic backdrops.

A Galaxy of Excitement: Star Wars Sneak Peek

As part of the celebration, viewers were treated to an exclusive Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge preview, the new themed lands opening in 2019 at Disneyland and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The segment offered a first look at the immersive environments, thrilling attractions, and galactic storytelling that awaited guests.

This sneak peek was one of the earliest on-screen introductions to what would become one of Disney Parks’ most ambitious expansions.
