The Golden Horseshoe Revue holds a special place in Disneyland’s history. As an opening day attraction in 1955, the revue became a symbol of live entertainment at the park. The first-ever performance took place the day before Disneyland’s official opening, celebrating Walt and Lillian Disney’s 30th wedding anniversary, marking a significant moment in Disney history.

A Legacy of Performance Excellence
The Golden Horseshoe Revue set a world record for the longest-running live stage show, with over 39,000 performances until its original run ended in October 1986. The show blended comedy, music, and can-can dance routines, capturing the spirit of the Old West. After its initial run, the venue hosted various acts, including: The Golden Horseshoe Variety Show, Billy Hill and the Hillbillies and a Woody’s Round-up version, celebrating the release of Toy Story 2 in 1999

Revisiting the 2017 Performance
The 2017 performance, recorded from my personal collection, revives the magic of this historic revue. The show retains its classic humor, live music, and dance performances, reminiscent of its original form. This version offers a nostalgic experience while showcasing how Disneyland continues to honor its entertainment legacy.

Celebrating Iconic Performers
The Golden Horseshoe served as a stage for several famous Disney performers, including Wally Boag, Betty Taylor, and Fulton Burley, who played key roles in its popularity. Boag’s slapstick comedy and Taylor’s impressive vocals became defining elements of the show. Their contributions helped shape Disneyland’s reputation for high-quality entertainment.
