On October 1, 2021, Magic Kingdom debuted an all-new nighttime spectacular, Disney Enchantment, marking the launch of The World’s Most Magical Celebration for Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary. This breathtaking evening show took guests on a journey filled with adventure, wonder, and empowerment. Featuring stunning fireworks, powerful music, and immersive projections, Disney Enchantment expanded beyond Cinderella Castle, illuminating Main Street, U.S.A. for the first time ever.

A New Era of Nighttime Spectaculars
Unlike previous nighttime shows, Disney Enchantment introduced an expanded canvas for storytelling, immersing guests from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A.. The show’s state-of-the-art projection technology transported guests deep into Disney’s most beloved stories, including Moana, Tangled, Coco, and Frozen.
Mark Renfrow, Show Director for Disney Live Entertainment, played a key role in crafting the vision and execution of Disney Enchantment. In our exclusive interview, he shared insights on what makes this show unique: “We wanted to create something that truly surrounds guests in the magic. From the moment the show begins, we take them on a journey through some of Disney’s most iconic films, reminding them that magic is always within reach.”

The Music Behind the Magic
A key highlight of Disney Enchantment is its emotional original song, “You Are the Magic”, written and performed by GRAMMY® winner Philip Lawrence. As a former Walt Disney World cast member, Lawrence brought his personal love for Disney storytelling into this powerful anthem, inspiring guests to believe in themselves and their dreams.

A Fireworks Display Unlike Any Other
The pyrotechnic display in Disney Enchantment raised the bar for Magic Kingdom’s nighttime entertainment. Vibrant bursts of color filled the sky, choreographed perfectly to the stirring soundtrack. Enhanced lighting effects and projection mapping extended beyond the castle, fully immersing audiences in a 360-degree visual experience unlike anything seen before at Walt Disney World.

Although Disney Enchantment was introduced as part of Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, its run ended on April 2, 2023, making way for the return of Happily Ever After. While its time was limited, Disney Enchantment left an indelible mark, bringing new technological advancements and storytelling elements to Magic Kingdom’s legacy of nighttime entertainment.
