Last Friday, Disney Cruise Line fans witnessed an exciting milestone: the Disney Wish float out. The newest Disney ship touched water for the first time and emerged from the building dock in grand style. Fireworks, music, and even Captain Minnie Mouse joined the celebration.
The float-out is a significant step in the shipbuilding process, and for Walt Disney Imagineering and Disney Cruise Line, it marked a dream come true.

Disney Wish Makes a Grand Exit
It took five hours to flood the building dock and 90 more minutes for the Disney Wish floatout to complete. The ship slowly sailed out with just three feet of space on each side, revealing its completed exterior.
The moment also marked the debut of the stern statue featuring Rapunzel and the first look at AquaMouse, Disney’s first attraction at sea.
What’s Next for the Disney Wish?
Now that the Disney Wish float-out is complete, the ship will remain at the pier for several weeks. Construction continues on the interior spaces, bringing new immersive experiences, restaurants, and entertainment to life. Soon, the ship will journey down the River Ems stern-first to Eemshaven, Netherlands, before completing final preparations for its official launch.
The Disney Wish is almost ready to bring magical adventures to life at sea, and we can’t wait to experience it all.
