The Muppets Mayhem, a brand-new Disney+ original series, follows The Electric Mayhem Band on an exciting journey as they record their first-ever album. Produced by Disney Branded Television, ABC Signature, and The Muppets Studio, this series puts the fan-favorite Muppet band in the spotlight like never before.
Meet The Electric Mayhem Band
First introduced on The Muppet Show in the 1970s, The Electric Mayhem Band has been a Muppet mainstay for decades. The group features Dr. Teeth (vocals and keyboards), Animal (drums), Floyd Pepper (vocals and bass), Janice (vocals and lead guitar), Zoot (saxophone), and Lips (trumpet). They have always been a beloved supporting act, but now they are center stage for the first time.
Behind the Music – The Creators
Developed by Adam F. Goldberg, Bill Barretta, and Jeff Yorkes, The Muppets Mayhem blends classic Muppet humor with musical adventure. The series is written by Goldberg (The Goldbergs), Barretta (The Muppets, Muppets Haunted Mansion), and Yorkes. Executive producers include Goldberg, Barretta, Michael Bostick, and Kris Eber.
A Long-Awaited Spotlight
Speaking about the series, David Lightbody, executive producer and senior vice president of Disney Live Entertainment and The Muppets Studio, shared his excitement: “They’ve been entertaining audiences since The Muppet Show debuted 45 years ago. It’s wonderful that these characters are finally getting to play lead rather than supporting roles.”
