Disney+ just dropped a brand-new trailer for Andor at Star Wars Celebration, setting the stage for one of the most anticipated series in the galaxy. Launching August 31, 2022, the show will premiere with two episodes and promises a gripping prequel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
The Story Before Rogue One
Andor follows Cassian Andor’s journey from survivor to rebel hero in a galaxy ruled by the Empire. Set before Rogue One, the series explores the birth of the Rebellion and why people chose to resist oppression. It’s more than a backstory—it’s a gritty, character-driven look at how the Rebellion slowly took shape. Amidst danger and deception, ordinary people ignite the spark that will challenge the Empire’s control.
A Stellar Cast and Creative Force
Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor, leading a cast that includes Genevieve O’Reilly and Stellan Skarsgård. Other key cast members include Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, and Kyle Soller. Tony Gilroy serves as creator and showrunner, building on his Rogue One success.
