Interactive Magic Arrives with MagicBand+ and Hey Disney
Walt Disney World’s 50th Anniversary celebration continues introducing new ways for guests to experience magic. Two of the most exciting additions are MagicBand+ and Hey Disney. Together, they transform how guests interact with the parks and resorts.
What Is MagicBand+?
MagicBand+ takes the familiar wristband experience to the next level. It features color-changing lights, haptic feedback, and gesture recognition. Once guests enter the parks, MagicBand+ responds to their environment.
Disney Fab 50 Quest
A major new feature is the Disney Fab 50 Quest. Using MagicBand+, guests can interact with golden character statues throughout all four theme parks. The Play Disney Parks app adds even more, letting guests collect achievements and use AR features to explore.

Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters
In Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests can join the Batuu Bounty Hunters’ Guild. MagicBand+ guides you using lights and vibrations to locate bounties. The Play Disney Parks app helps you scan your bounty using a thermal viewer. After completing your mission, you return to the guild master for your reward.
Enhanced Nighttime Shows
MagicBand+ also syncs with nighttime spectaculars like Harmonious at EPCOT and Disney Enchantment at Magic Kingdom. Your band lights up in rhythm with the show, adding a new layer of immersion.
“Hey Disney!” Enhances Your Stay
“Hey Disney!” is a new voice assistant built with Alexa technology. It adds a magical twist to hotel room convenience. Guests can ask for extra towels, bus schedules, or even trivia from over 25 Disney characters. It’s like having a cast member in your room!
Coming soon to select resort hotel rooms, “Hey Disney!” is free during your stay. It will also be available for purchase on supported Amazon Echo devices. And yes—MagicBand+ will connect with it for even more interactive magic.
