Celebrate Star Wars Day 2022 at Disneyland Resort
Star Wars fans flock to Disneyland Resort every year for May the 4th. In 2022, the celebration was bigger than ever, featuring limited-time offerings, character encounters, and themed experiences across Tomorrowland and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Return of Hyperspace Mountain and Classic Adventures
Hyperspace Mountain blasted back into action with a thrilling overlay that dropped guests into the middle of an intergalactic dogfight. The fan-favorite attraction was only available through July 4. Star Tours: The Adventures Continue also celebrated 35 years of travel through the galaxy, taking guests to iconic Star Wars destinations.
Heroes, Villains, and Fan Favorites
Guests spotted Captain Phasma patrolling Tomorrowland with a squad of stormtroopers. Inside Galaxy’s Edge, Chewbacca, Rey, and Kylo Ren mingled with visitors. Selfies with R2-D2 and interactions with First Order enforcers added to the experience.
Limited-Time Photo Ops from Disney+
Tomorrowland featured immersive photo locations inspired by “The Book of Boba Fett” and “The Mandalorian.” Guests could sit on Boba Fett’s throne or recreate Grogu’s Force connection at the Tython temple. Exclusive Magic Shots featuring Grogu, K-2SO, and Stormtroopers were also available.
Galactic Food and Drinks Across the Resort
Star Wars-themed treats made the experience even more immersive. Highlights included:
- Blue Milk: Mon Cala Swirl – Milk Stand
- Parfait of Mustafar – Galactic Grill
- Ishi Tib Pasta with Braised Beef – Docking Bay 7
- Sullust Garlic Chips – Jat Kaa’s Coolers
- New Bubo Wamba Family Farms Collector Cup
These items were available throughout May and June.
New Merch and LEGO Fun at Downtown Disney
Limited-edition merchandise, droid parts, lightsaber hilts, and more were available throughout Galaxy’s Edge and Tomorrowland. Downtown Disney added to the celebration with:
- A Star Wars sand sculpture
- An 8-foot LEGO Yoda model
- Galactic treats like caramel macarons and light/dark shakes
- Star Wars-inspired gear at Kayla’s Cake, Pandora Jewelry, California Sole, and Lovepop
Galactic Fun at Disneyland Hotels
Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel featured themed treats and a Star Wars lobby display. Guests could purchase sugar cookies, pretzel lightsabers, and Wookiee cookies. Hotel guests were also treated to movie nights featuring the Star Wars sequel trilogy.
