Behind the Magic: Tara Anderson Shares What’s New in Boo to You Parade 2022
In an exclusive interview, Tara Anderson, Director of Walt Disney World’s Boo to You Halloween Parade, gave us a look into the creative energy, choreography, and spooky surprises added for 2022. Her passion for the beloved Halloween parade is clear from the moment she starts talking about her favorite moments.

A Fresh Twist on a Halloween Classic
Tara shared that this year’s Boo to You Parade brought some exciting updates to the floats, costuming, and even the music—all designed to keep the experience fresh while staying true to its roots. “We focused on character moments this year,” she said. “There are more opportunities to see your favorite villains and a few fun surprises we’ve never done before.”

From new lighting effects to updates in choreography, 2022 brought enhancements that elevate the energy and immersion of the parade, especially during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party nights.
Fan-Favorite Moments That Never Fade
Of course, the Headless Horseman still leads the way, galloping down Main Street, U.S.A. to kick off the parade in dramatic fashion. Tara notes this continues to be a crowd favorite: “You feel the excitement ripple through the audience the second the Horseman appears. It sets the tone for the entire evening.”

And yes, the Gravediggers are back with their iconic shovel sparks—a moment Tara says is one of the most requested every season. “Guests love the combination of rhythm, mystery, and precision they bring,” she added.
A Parade with Heart (and a Little Haunt)
More than just a spectacle, Boo to You has grown into an emotional tradition for families and Disney fans alike. “It’s more than a parade,” Tara explained. “It’s part of their Halloween tradition. We take that seriously—and we love delivering those unforgettable memories.”
You can catch the Boo to You Parade exclusively during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom through Halloween night.
