On Saturday, Dec. 24 at 9:00 p.m. EST, National Geographic debuts Making the Wish: Disney’s Newest Cruise Ship. This 90-minute documentary showcases the innovation, imagination, and engineering that went into creating the Disney Wish. Viewers will gain exclusive access to the teams at Disney Cruise Line and Walt Disney Imagineering who brought the ship to life.
Directed and produced by Chad Cohen and Bethany Jones in partnership with Disney Yellow Shoes, this special delivers a rare behind-the-scenes look. As the filmmakers put it:
“At a two-centuries-old shipyard on Germany’s North Sea, a marvel of modern engineering is taking shape. Hundreds of construction workers, engineers, architects, designers, animators, composers, storytellers, cast and crew are transforming 144,000 tons of steel into perhaps the most enchanting vessel ever to take to sea.
