Disney Debuts Super Bowl Commercial Celebrating 100 Years of Storytelling

On October 16, 2023, The Walt Disney Company will officially mark its 100th anniversary. Throughout the year, Disney is honoring the storytellers and fans who’ve helped bring a century of magic to life. That celebration took center stage during Super Bowl LVII with the debut of a special commercial: the “Disney100 Special Look.”

A Century of Wonder Shared with the World

The Disney100 Super Bowl spot highlights the company’s unrivaled legacy of storytelling and innovation. Featuring clips from beloved Disney films, series, stage shows, theme parks, and iconic characters, the tribute also includes powerful words from Walt Disney himself, celebrating the imagination and joy Disney has brought to generations.

“As we commemorate our historic 100th anniversary, it is remarkable to look back at Walt Disney’s legacy and his passionate pursuit of excellence that continues to propel the company forward today,” said Robert A. Iger, Chief Executive Officer, The Walt Disney Company. “Disney100 represents a celebration of all our fans and families, and our storytellers and creative visionaries whose talents and imaginations have created the magical moments that make Disney such an enduring part of the global culture.”

A Year Full of Disney Magic

The Super Bowl commercial kicks off a year of celebration, beginning with exciting new theatrical releases like Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, opening February 17. Just one day later, on February 18, the world premiere of Disney100: The Exhibition opens at The Franklin Institute in Philadelphia. This 10-gallery, 15,000-square-foot exhibit will feature over 250 rarely seen artifacts from The Walt Disney Archives.

More movie magic is coming throughout 2023, including:

• The Little Mermaid and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 in May
• Elemental, Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, The Marvels, and The Haunted Mansion in summer
• Wish, a brand-new Walt Disney Animation Studios film, on November 22

Disney Parks Join the Celebration

Disneyland Resort launched its Disney100 festivities on January 27, unveiling:

• Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
• Two new nighttime spectaculars: World of Color – One and Wondrous Journeys
• Limited-time food, merchandise, and entertainment themed to the 100th anniversary

Parks around the globe will continue surprising guests with Disney100-themed moments, magical offerings, and more.
