Halloween Magic Returns to the Parks
Fall will arrive spectacularly at Disneyland Resort starting September 1, 2023, as Halloween Time creeps into the Happiest Place on Earth. From spooky decorations to villainous delights, the season promises plenty of tricks and treats for guests of all ages.
At Disneyland Park, look for the return of the Main Street Pumpkin Festival and Jack Skellington taking over Haunted Mansion Holiday. Over at Disney California Adventure Park, Cars Land transforms into Radiator Screams, and new overlays like Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween and Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree set the tone for a spooky good time.
Halloween Screams and Spooky Overlays
Nighttime entertainment takes a ghoulish turn with “Halloween Screams,” a seasonal spectacular filled with supernatural projections, effects, and music. On select nights, fireworks add to the thrills, and MagicBand+ enhances the show with light and vibration.
Three attractions get Halloween overlays: Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween, and Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark, where guests help Rocket save Groot from terrifying creatures.
Día de los Muertos and Plaza de la Familia
From September 1 to November 2, Paradise Gardens in Disney California Adventure becomes home to Plaza de la Familia. This vibrant experience celebrates Día de los Muertos with live music, “A Musical Celebration of Coco,” and festive food at Paradise Garden Grill. Guests can enjoy crafts, a Memory Wall, and meet Miguel.
At Disneyland Park, Frontierland features its traditional Day of the Dead display, and in Cars Land, Ramone honors Doc Hudson with a themed “ofrenda.”
Oogie Boogie Bash – A Disney Halloween Party
Oogie Boogie Bash returns to Disney California Adventure for 25 select nights between September 5 and October 31, 2023. This after-hours event includes shorter wait times, treat trails, villain encounters, and party-exclusive offerings like Mickey’s Trick and Treat, the Frightfully Fun Parade, and Villains Grove.
Guests can enter Disney California Adventure three hours before the event and enjoy unlimited PhotoPass digital downloads. Tickets go on sale to the general public on June 29. With Magic Key holders gaining early access on June 27 at Disneyland.com/OogieBoogieBash.

Celebrate the Season with Treats and Decor
