For more than 40 years, Disney and Make-A-Wish have teamed up to make dreams come true for children facing critical illnesses. Together, they’ve granted nearly 150,000 wishes across parks, cruise ships, resorts, and more.

To mark World Wish Day 2023, Disney celebrated this incredible milestone with something never done before: a window dedication on Main Street, U.S.A., honoring a non-profit organization. The center window pays tribute to Make-A-Wish and all wish kids—past, present, and future. The two side windows honor Chris Greicius and Frank “Bopsy” Salazar, the children whose wishes sparked the beginning of the Make-A-Wish legacy.
A Heartfelt Ceremony at Disneyland Park
The ceremony took place above the Wish Lounge at Disneyland Park, a quiet family space. Speakers included Disneyland Resort President Ken Potrock, Make-A-Wish America CEO Leslie Motter, and Disney Parks Chairman Josh D’Amaro. Six wish children attended alongside the mothers of Chris and Bopsy.
“This is a legacy moment,” said Potrock. “It reflects the countless stories of hope and inspiration created through this partnership.”
Honoring Wishes Past and Future
The milestone window celebrates not only the children whose wishes have been granted but also the cast members, families, and Imagineers who brought those dreams to life. Walt Disney Imagineering collaborated with Disney Animation to design both the commemorative windows and the interior of the Wish Lounge. The design was inspired by Wish, an upcoming animated film set to release in November 2023.
Disneyland’s Main Street has always honored individuals who helped shape the resort’s story. With this new tribute, it now honors a legacy of compassion and joy.
