Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway debuted in the newly reimagined Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland Park as part of the Disney100 anniversary celebration. This marks the very first time Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse star in a ride-through attraction at Disneyland Resort.

A Unique Disneyland Experience
While the ride system and storyline are similar to the Walt Disney World version, the Disneyland Runaway Railway offers an entirely original queue, setting, and backstory unique to Disneyland. Guests begin their journey inside the El CapiTOON Theater. For the premiere of a new Mickey Mouse cartoon short, “Perfect Picnic.”

The Queue: A Must-See Attraction
The queue itself is an experience, designed as a tribute to Mickey Mouse’s career. Inside the El CapiTOON Theater, you’ll find a special exhibit, “Mickey Through the Ears,” created by the Toontown Hysterical Society. It’s filled with hidden Mickeys, exclusive movie posters, and incredible Easter eggs celebrating Mickey’s legacy.

Look closely for:
- Mickey’s Sorcerer’s Apprentice costume and magic hat from Fantasia
- A haunted dresser referencing The Lonesome Ghost (1937)
- Original costumes from Mickey Mouse Disco and Mousercise, complete with Goofy’s quirky sound system
- Props from Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, including a giant Mousekatool
- Fun nods to Potatoland and other Mickey Mouse shorts

Sweet Treats and Hidden Details
The theater’s concession stand serves popcorn shaped like Mickey, Minnie, and Donald. The candy selection features clever nods to classic cartoons, from The Grasshopper and the Ants to cult favorite A Goofy Movie.

Sharp-eyed guests will notice cameos in the posters featuring characters like Mortimer Mouse, Donald’s DuckTales co-stars, Minnie’s nieces, Mickey’s nephews, and Max Goof’s classmates from A Goofy Movie.
The Ride: A Cartoon Adventure
After exploring the incredible queue, guests enter the cartoon world and board a train with Goofy as the engineer. What follows is an out-of-control adventure filled with twists, turns, and surprising moments that bring the Mickey Mouse shorts to life.
