It’s almost coronation day! Disney cast members across Disney Parks, Experiences and Products are adding final touches to the upcoming Once Upon A Wish Party at Walt Disney World. This special event happens tomorrow to celebrate World Princess Week. It was designed especially for wish kids and their families.
A Celebration of Joy and Wishes
The Once Upon A Wish Party is one of Disney’s largest wish-granting events. More than 50 children with critical illnesses and their families from around the country will attend. The day will include royal encounters with Disney characters, delicious treats, and an evening royal ball where wish kids will be crowned royalty.
Cast Members Make the Magic Happen
Bringing this event to life takes an incredible team. Over 500 cast members worked together to build sets, prepare food, assemble royal packages, and ensure safety and accessibility for every family.
“Only at Disney can you make an impact like this,” said Stefanie Steele, Senior Manager of Corporate Social Responsibility at Walt Disney World. “It has been so inspiring to see the passion everyone brings to make dreams come true for these families.”
Once Upon A Wish Party with Royal Help from Disney Characters
In preparation, the Fairy Godmother sent invitations. Disney characters also helped. Elsa and Anna shared their 8,000 salad plates. Ariel donated enough thingamabobs for nearly 300 royal guests. The event takes place at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, transformed into a royal celebration.
A Full-Circle Moment for a Cast Member
For Abron Kelly, a Disney PhotoPass photographer and former wish kid, the event holds special meaning. “Disney was the place I could go and feel like a regular kid,” Abron shared. “I knew someday I wanted to create that magic for others.”
