The Haunted Mansion at Disneyland Resort will soon receive a thrilling expansion, adding new storytelling and immersive elements in 2024. Guests can expect an enhanced outdoor queue, themed gardens, and an all-new retail shop honoring Madame Leota.
Expanding the Lore of the Haunted Mansion
Legend says a sea captain built the Haunted Mansion, and next year’s expansion brings this backstory to life. The new outdoor queue will include gardens inspired by Master Gracey, Madame Leota, and the mysterious one-eyed cat. Guests will discover themed statuary, a gazebo, a fountain, and even a greenhouse tended by the groundskeepers.
The classic pet cemetery and horse-drawn funeral hearse will remain part of the Haunted Mansion’s grounds, keeping familiar favorites in place while enhancing the experience.

A New Shop Inspired by Madame Leota
The expansion includes a new retail shop set inside the mansion’s carriage house. Belonging to Madame Leota, this shop will extend her presence beyond the séance room, offering themed merchandise tied to her story and the mansion’s lore.
Enhancing the Plaza Near Tiana’s Palace
Guests can also enjoy updates to the plaza adjacent to Tiana’s Palace, transforming it into an elegant park-like setting with shaded seating, live entertainment, and historic trees. This refreshed space honors the area’s rich history while creating a relaxing environment.

Construction Begins January 2024
Construction on the Haunted Mansion expansion starts in January 2024. Improvements will include a new elevator exit for guests with disabilities, ensuring better accessibility while preserving the attraction’s charm.

More details will be shared in early 2024, but Disney promises exciting additions inspired by Leota’s incantations and the mansion’s spooky legacy. Haunted Mansion Expansion Coming 2024 Disneyland
