San Fransokyo Square Opens at Disney California Adventure: A Big Hero 6 Celebration

A Vibrant New Land Inspired by Big Hero 6

San Fransokyo Square officially opened on August 31, 2023, bringing the world of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Big Hero 6 to life at Disney California Adventure Park. This dynamic area blends the iconic streets of San Francisco and Tokyo, creating a colorful mash-up city filled with adventure, innovation, and heart.

Guests will instantly spot the 54-foot-tall San Fransokyo Gate Bridge, connecting the area to Paradise Gardens Park. Throughout the square, visitors will find murals, banners, and street art celebrating Hiro, Baymax, and the rest of the Big Hero 6 team.

Meet Baymax and Hiro Hamada

Outside the Hamada Bot Shop, guests have the chance to meet Hiro Hamada and his lovable robot companion, Baymax. This interactive experience brings fans face-to-face with their favorite heroes from the movie. The converted warehouse setting offers an authentic glimpse into where the team builds their hi-tech gear.

A Tasty Tour of San Fransokyo Square

San Fransokyo Square offers a delicious variety of dining options inspired by Asian flavors and Baymax’s hometown. Guests can enjoy Japanese cuisine at Aunt Cass Café, sip a craft beer at Port of San Fransokyo Cervecería, and savor fusion dishes at Lucky Fortune Cookery. Don’t miss street tacos at Cocina Cucamonga or sweet treats at Ghirardelli Soda Fountain.

The San Fransokyo Maker’s Market offers apparel, home décor, and collectibles featuring Baymax and friends. Guests can also collect limited-edition medallions from a themed vending machine.  Or trade pins at Pan Pacific Pin Traders, located near the San Fransokyo Gate Bridge.
