Disney Imagineers have refreshed the classic Disneyland Jungle Cruise with an expanded backstory and exciting new scenes, keeping the attraction’s signature humor alive. Now, the updated narrative focuses on Alberta Falls, the granddaughter of Dr. Albert Falls, who runs the Jungle Navigation Company Ltd.
New Scenes Add More Adventure and Laughs
Throughout the journey, guests will encounter fresh scenes packed with fun surprises. For example, a safari of explorers finds themselves stuck up a tree after their adventure goes wrong. Meanwhile, mischievous chimpanzees have taken over their wrecked boat. Trader Sam’s Lost & Found has transformed into a playful gift shop managed by Alberta’s friend, Trader Sam.
Chimpanzees have taken over the wrecked boat of a safari expedition on the world-famous Jungle Cruise at Disneyland Park. Officially reopening on July 16, 2021, Jungle Cruise will offer new adventures, an expanded storyline and more humor as skippers take guests on a tongue-in-cheek journey along some of the most remote rivers around the world. The new creative concept is original to Walt Disney Imagineering, just like the classic attraction itself. (Christian Thompson/Disneyland Resort)
The refreshed Jungle Cruise also keeps beloved scenes such as the Cambodian Shrine with leaping tigers and snapping crocodiles, the Jungle Cruise Safari Camp overtaken by curious gorillas, and the African Veldt where lions guard a “sleeping” zebra. Naturally, skippers still introduce guests to the back side of water at Schweitzer Falls.
Skipper Narration Blends Classic Comedy and New Fun
Skippers continue to deliver witty narration throughout the journey, blending the new storyline with their classic jokes. Their entertaining commentary ties together the enhanced scenes while preserving the attraction’s original charm.
The Disneyland Jungle Cruise officially reopened on July 16, 2021, inviting guests to enjoy this updated adventure. Visitors can experience the refreshed attraction and its playful humor on their next visit to Disneyland Park.
