During Halloween Time and the Holidays at Disneyland Park, Jack Skellington takes over Haunted Mansion with spooky and merry décor inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas. Haunted Mansion Holiday transforms the attraction into a thrilling mix of Halloween and Christmas. Here’s a look at fun facts about this fan-favorite seasonal overlay!
A Towering Gingerbread House
Each year, the Grand Hall features a giant gingerbread house created by a team of pastry chefs and imagineers. In 2023, it stands 9 feet, 13 inches tall and is a creepy mausoleum with a haunted apparition trapped inside. This year’s design includes cotton candy ghosts and molded gingerbread chains.
Ghostly Lights and Jack-O-Lanterns
More than 400 flickering candles light the Haunted Mansion Holiday façade, with over 100 jack-o-lanterns glowing each night. Jack Skellington and Zero appear in a fully animated sequence on the stretching room ceiling, and Zero makes surprise appearances in the portrait gallery.

Madame Leota’s Holiday Message
Kim Irvine, Executive Creative Director at Walt Disney Imagineering, portrays Madame Leota in Haunted Mansion Holiday—continuing a family legacy started by her mother, Disney Legend Leota Toombs. In the Séance Room, Madame Leota delivers the “13 Days of Christmas” through spinning fortune cards.
Snowy Graveyard and Spooky Figures
The graveyard glistens with nearly 7,500 square feet of snow and 1,000 twinkling orange lights. More than two dozen extra animated figures, from vampire teddy bears to man-eating wreaths, materialize throughout Haunted Mansion Holiday.

A Frightfully Fun Tradition
Haunted Mansion Holiday celebrates its blend of two holidays with intricate details, immersive effects, and seasonal surprises. From eerie wreaths to Zero’s playful presence, the attraction offers a unique twist on both Halloween and Christmas.
