The Disney Cruise Line team recently unveiled the sixth ship in its growing fleet—the Disney Treasure. Cast and crew from around the world gathered to share excitement during “Unlocking the Disney Treasure: Adventure Awaits Onboard Disney’s Newest Ship,” a special event highlighting what’s ahead.
A Global Team Comes Together
More than 10,000 cast and crew members played a role in bringing this dream to life, charting new courses as they prepared the Disney Treasure for its upcoming adventures. James Connors-Morrison, Cruise Sales and Services Manager, reflected on the journey.
“We have this ship coming and another one after that. There’s so much expansion. We’re going to be able to share this wonderful experience with so many more people,” James shared. “I just love being part of that.”
Food, Fun, and New Experiences Await
Dining is always a highlight on a Disney cruise. Brandi Crenshaw, Executive Secretary, shared her enthusiasm: “I’m definitely looking forward to the treats. As a guest, I love all of our restaurants and the excitement surrounding the different eating locations—and of course the merchandise.”
The Disney Treasure will feature three immersive dining experiences, each transporting guests into the worlds of favorite Disney stories while they savor delectable dishes.
Immersive Storytelling on Board
Christian Cruz, Trip Manager for Adventures by Disney, is eager to experience the ship’s theming. “I’m really excited about the themed spaces, like the Disney Parks-inspired venues and movie tie-ins. From Captain Hook and Peter Pan on the stern to Skipper Society, inspired by Jungle Cruise, there’s something for every explorer.”
During the reveal, cast members explored virtual reality previews of spaces like the Periscope Pub—inspired by Disney’s 1954 film and the classic attraction “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea”—and the Coco-themed theatrical dining venue. They also enjoyed an immersive look at the stunning Disney Treasure Grand Hall through VR goggles.
“I’ve never done VR before, so that was really cool. It felt like I was there,” Christian said. “One day, I’ll walk into that hall and take a photo with Aladdin and Jasmine.”
