Itโs official! Walt Disney World Ambassadors for 2024-2025 have been announced. During a special ceremony at Epcot on September 22, Serena Arvizu and Shannon Smith-Conrad were named the newest Ambassadors, surrounded by their families, fellow cast members, and former Disney Ambassadors.
Serena and Shannon will step into their new roles in October, just in time to help kick off Disneyโs 100th anniversary. Their term comes at an exciting moment for the company, with major projects and celebrations planned across the parks and beyond.
A Milestone Term for Walt Disney World Ambassadors
As Walt Disney World Ambassadors, Serena and Shannon will represent cast members, fans, and storytellers who help bring Disney magic to life. Their two-year term will include some big milestones:
- The opening of Tianaโs Bayou Adventure at Magic Kingdom
- A brand-new fireworks nighttime spectacular at Epcot
- The groundbreaking of Disneyโs affordable housing project in Central Florida
- The debut of Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana at Epcot on October 16
And thatโs just the beginning! Their term aligns with a decade of growth at Disney Parks. Making it one of the most exciting times to serve as an Ambassador.
Carrying on a Disney Tradition
The Disney Ambassador program began in 1965 when Walt Disney himself introduced Julie Reihm as the first Disney Ambassador. Nearly 60 years later, the program continues to honor cast members who represent Disney. Represent both inside the parks and out in the community. At Walt Disney World, a new team is selected every two years to carry on the tradition.
Outgoing Ambassadors, Ali Manion and Raevon Redding, will continue their duties through the end of the year while helping Serena and Shannon prepare for this unique experience. Since Walt Disney World opened, only 82 cast members have had the honor of serving as Ambassadors.
About Serena Arvizu
Serenaโs Disney journey began in 2016 on the Disney College Program, where she worked as a hostess at The Crystal Palace in Magic Kingdom. Most recently, she worked as a Sourcing Specialist with Disney Supplier Diversity. Serena looks forward to celebrating the work of cast members and sharing their stories about making magic for guests and the community.
About Shannon Smith-Conrad
Shannon started with Disney in 2012 through the Disney College Program at Disneyland Resort. She most recently served as a Coordinator in Professional Recruitment. Passionate about helping others, Shannon is excited to volunteer alongside fellow cast as a Disney VoluntEAR and bring the magic of Disney to the community.
A Bright Future Ahead
Congratulations to Serena and Shannon on being selected as the 2024-2025 Walt Disney World Ambassadors! Their term promises unforgettable moments, and theyโll play a key role in representing Disneyโs past, present, and future.
