The marimba is a percussion instrument consisting of wooden bars struck by mallets. Below each bar is a resonator pipe that amplifies particular harmonics of its sound. It’s in the same family as a xylophone but typically has a lower-ranging sound. Typically, the bars are arranged like the keys of a piano.
