Adventureland Treehouse Photo Report: A Tribute to Walt Disney’s Swiss Family Robinson

On November 10, 2023, Disneyland Park reopened a beloved icon with the debut of the reimagined Adventureland Treehouse inspired by Walt Disney’s Swiss Family Robinson. This reimagined experience pays tribute to the original 1962 treehouse Walt Disney and his Imagineers designed, inviting guests to rediscover the wonder and resourcefulness of a shipwrecked family living among the treetops.

A Walkthrough of Imagination and Innovation

Guests entering Adventureland are welcomed by a towering tree filled with rope bridges, bamboo staircases, and uniquely themed rooms. Each room reflects the personality and passions of a modern-day Swiss Family who, after a shipwreck, built their new home using salvaged materials and creative ingenuity.

Explore these highlights:

  • Father’s Room: Maps, journals, and nautical gear express his adventurous spirit.
  • Mother’s Room: Musical instruments such as a harp, lute, guitar, and organ fill the space with joyful melodies.
  • Children’s Quarters: Pulley systems and makeshift telescopes showcase their creativity and playful energy.

Details to Discover

As expected from Disney, every corner includes intricate storytelling, clever designs, and hidden Mickeys. The original waterwheel system continues to operate, powering parts of the treehouse and delighting longtime fans. Each space encourages guests to slow down, explore, and enjoy every thoughtful touch.

A Nostalgic Journey for All Ages

Whether you recall the original Swiss Family Treehouse, experienced the Tarzan version, or are visiting for the first time, this updated attraction blends nostalgia with fresh storytelling. It honors the past while reaching into new imaginative territory.

Bring your sense of adventure and prepare to climb—Disneyland’s newest attraction invites you to relive classic tales, one treetop at a time.
