A Legacy That Started with a Mouse
To celebrate 95 years of magic, The Walt Disney Company is honoring Mickey Mouse—the “True Original”—with a heartfelt brand spot and global festivities. The spot debuted on November 16 during Good Morning America and includes rare clips of Walt Disney voicing Mickey, classic moments from Steamboat Willie, and reflections from Walt himself.
The tribute also plays before early screenings of Wish, creating a full-circle moment of Disney storytelling past and present.
Celebrate on Disney+ and Across Disney Channels
Fans can stream a curated collection of Mickey Mouse classics and modern hits on Disney+, including:
- Newly remastered Archive Shorts
- Mickey Mouse Funhouse episodes
- Me & Mickey shorts
Meanwhile, Disney Channel, Disney Junior, and Disney XD joined the festivities with “Mickey’s Mouse-a-riffic Birthday Week,” featuring themed episodes and special airings all week long.
Park-Wide Celebrations and Collectibles
Disney Parks and Resorts around the world are marking the milestone with birthday-themed parades, character photo ops, surprise appearances, and more. Guests can pick up a commemorative birthday button at select locations—including BoxLunch stores and Disney Parks—while supplies last.
The 2023 Mickey & Co apparel collection, inspired by the 1980s original line, has also returned. A December drop will include items themed to Mickey’s Garden.
Mickey and Minnie Make Appearances Across the U.S.
Mickey and Minnie attended a preview of Disney100: The Exhibition in Chicago on November 16, before leading the Magnificent Mile Tree-Lighting Parade as Grand Marshals. It’s a fitting celebration that kicks off the holiday season in true Disney fashion.
As part of Disney’s 100th anniversary celebrations, Mickey and Minnie are also hosting special guest appearances on the Disney Hits SiriusXM channel, sharing their favorite songs across Disney’s musical legacy.
The Mouse That Started It All
For nearly a century, Mickey Mouse has inspired joy, laughter, and memories around the world. From the screen to the parks, Mickey’s legacy continues to grow, touching new generations of fans.
As Walt Disney once said, “I only hope that we never lose sight of one thing—that it was all started by a mouse.”
