Holidays at the Disneyland Resort: ‘World of Color – Season of Light’ Returns 2023

The beloved nighttime spectacular “World of Color – Season of Light” makes its dazzling return to Disney California Adventure Park, running from November 10, 2023, through January 7, 2024. This holiday edition of the fan-favorite show blends music, animation, and festive cheer to capture the spirit of the season.

A Celebration of the Season

Debuting in 2016, “World of Color – Season of Light” features more than 120 characters from 30 Walt Disney Animation Studios and Pixar films. The production weaves heartwarming seasonal stories with beloved songs, high-definition projections, lasers, and fountains that light up Paradise Bay.

MagicBand+ adds an extra layer of immersion, syncing with the show through colorful lights and gentle vibrations that bring the performance to life in your hands.

Thematic Highlights

The show is divided into joyful vignettes that explore the magic of the holidays:

  • Snow: The Frost Fairies from Fantasia create a shimmering winter wonderland.
  • Love and Romance: Disney couples warm hearts as their stories unfold to seasonal music.
  • Family and Home: Stitch and the Three Caballeros join families from Toy Story and beyond to showcase traditions from around the globe.
  • The Nutcracker: Comical characters from Fantasia dance to Tchaikovsky’s classic ballet.
  • Lights: Goofy’s holiday decorating leads to a humorous mishap, with Sadness from Inside Out stepping in for a memorable “Blue Christmas.”
  • Peace on Earth: The show concludes with a luminous celebration of hope and joy.

Viewing Tips

Guests can check daily showtimes on Disneyland.com or the Disneyland app. Viewing areas are accessible through a complimentary virtual queue** system via the Disneyland app. While not required, joining the queue is highly recommended, as walk-up access is limited and based on availability.
