Disney Cruise Line is preparing to welcome guests to its newest destination—Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point—beginning summer 2024. This one-of-a-kind island retreat on the island of Eleuthera in The Bahamas is designed to celebrate Bahamian culture, storytelling, and natural beauty in a way only Disney can.
A Warm “Mabrika” Welcome
Guests will first arrive at Mabrika Cove, a vibrant welcome point that reflects the island’s deep cultural roots. “Mabrika” means “welcome” in Taino, the language of the Lucayans, the indigenous people of The Bahamas. This cheerful entry area sets the tone for the culturally rich experience ahead.
Celebrate Junkanoo at the Goombay Cultural Center
Disney Lookout Cay will come alive with the sounds and colors of Junkanoo, The Bahamas’ most iconic celebration. The Goombay Cultural Center, named after the traditional music of The Bahamas, features a brilliantly designed pavilion and arch inspired by Junkanoo parades. Guests can expect dancing, drumming, and a deep dive into the country’s spirited traditions.
Entertainment and Exploration Await
Families can gather at Triton’s Trumpet Stage, a lively gazebo named after a spiral seashell found along Bahamian shores. The stage will host musical acts and cultural entertainment, bringing an extra splash of magic to the island’s tropical vibe. Disney fans will recognize the nod to King Triton from The Little Mermaid.
Local Treasures and Artisan Gifts
Treasures of Eleuthera will be the island’s retail shop, featuring locally made crafts and Bahamian-inspired keepsakes. The store’s curated selection will highlight local artisans and offer families the chance to take home a piece of their island experience.
