The spirit of the season is alive and well with the return of the Disney Ultimate Toy Drive for 2023, supporting the Marine Toys for Tots Program. As holiday decorations go up across Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort, cast members and fans alike are joining the effort to deliver a little extra magic to children in need.
A Legacy of Giving: 75 Years of Magic
Disney’s connection to Toys for Tots runs deep. It began back in 1947 when Walt Disney and his animation team designed the official Toys for Tots logo, still in use today. Since that time, Toys for Tots has helped deliver over 652 million toys to more than 291 million children across the country.
In 2022 alone, the organization distributed over 24 million toys to nearly 10 million children — a record-breaking year that the Disney Ultimate Toy Drive aims to build on in 2023.
Two Easy Ways to Give
Guests and fans can participate in the toy drive in two meaningful ways:
- Donate a toy in person at select locations across Disney theme parks and resorts.
- Donate a toy online through shopDisney.com, where curated lists make giving simple and joyful.
Cast Members & VoluntEARS: The Magic Behind the Scenes
Inside the parks, Disney cast members are busy filling donation boxes and volunteering behind the scenes. Through Disney VoluntEARS, cast members help sort and distribute donated toys — a tradition they look forward to year after year.
One standout story this season is Taylor Price, a volunteer coordinator and foster mom from Denison, Texas. Taylor’s personal journey is as inspiring as the work she’s doing. After experiencing homelessness as a child, she received a toy from Toys for Tots that made a lasting impact. Now, she’s paying that moment forward by stepping up to lead her local chapter.
To honor Taylor’s dedication, Disney donated 1,000 toys from shopDisney to her chapter. And as a surprise, she was also flown to New York City for a Good Morning America appearance and treated to an early birthday celebration — including tickets to see Aladdin on Broadway.
